What We Believe

  1. The Holy Scriptures – We believe the Holy Scriptures, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to be God-breathed, verbal, plenary and inerrant in the original writings.  II Timothy 3:16-17
  2. The Godhead – We believe in One God, eternally existing as a trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Co-equal in deity, divergent in duties. We believe that God is the creator of all things.  Deut. 6:4-5, Isaiah 48:12-16, Matt. 3:16-17, I Peter 1:2, Gen. 1-2
  3. The Person and Work of the Father – We believe that God the Father is the author of salvation and directs all the affairs of God and man.  Mark 14:35-36
  4. The Person and Work of Christ – We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the unique Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was virgin born, and is sinless. We believe that His death on the cross is the only sacrifice sufficient for sin.  We believe our redemption is made sure by His literal physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.  Matt. 1:18-25, I Cor. 15:1-4, Heb. 7:24-25
  5. The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit – We believe in the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. Through his indwelling he enables us to live a Godly life according to scriptural principles and seals us until the day of redemption.  John 16:8-11, Eph. 1:13-14
  6. The Total Depravity of Man – We believe that God created man in His image.  Because man sinned, physical and spiritual death entered the world leaving man with a sinful nature in need of the Savior.  Gen. 1:27, Rom. 5:12, Eph. 2:1-5
  7. Salvation – We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins, according to the Scriptures.  Eph. 1:7, Eph.  2:8-9, I Cor. 5:3-4
  8. Sanctification – We believe that sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit begun at the moment of salvation, that it is progressive, and that it will be completed when we see Jesus face to face.  Eph. 1:4, I Peter 1:2, I Thess. 4:3-4, I John 3:2, II Cor. 6:14-7:1
  9. Assurance of Believers – We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to rejoice in the assurance of their eternal salvation, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, as set forth in God’s Word.  John 10:28-29, Philippians 1:6, I Peter 1:3-5, I John 1:1-4, I John 5:11-13
  10. The Church – We believe that the church is composed of all born-again believers.  We believe that the primary goal of the local church is to encourage one another as indicated in Hebrews 10:24-25 and I Cor. 12:12-14
  11. Baptism – We believe that baptism is by immersion and that it is a testimony of salvation. Matt. 28:18-20    Mark 1:9-11
  12. The Lord’s Supper – We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the finished work of Jesus Christ; to be observed until He comes. I Cor. 11:23-33
  13. The Rapture – We believe in the “Blessed Hope”: the personal soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones.  Titus 2:13, I Thess. 4:13-18, Rev. 22:12-13, 20
  14. The Eternal State – We believe in the future bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life with God and the unsaved to eternal punishment.  Matt. 25:41-46
  15. The Personality of Satan – We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and cause of the fall, and that he is destined for the judgment of eternal justice in the lake of fire.  Job 2:1-7, Rev. 20:10
